You can also apply a meamagic feat from an appropriate metamagic rod as well at no additional spell slot cost. As long as the adjusted level after applying feats and traits are of a level you have a spell slot for. At casting as a sorcerer, or when prepared as a wizard, a spell can be cast with any number of metamagic feats. Now, if you were intending to ask if you could apply multiple metamagic feats to spells in general, also yes. If you plan to use primarily one bread-and-butter spell, and learn relevant metamagic feats, its well worth it.
